Folle Blanche is a white grape variety originating in France. It was once widely cultivated as a key ingredient for distilled spirits and is still grown in the production regions of Cognac and Armagnac. However, its total cultivation area in France has declined to around 800 hectares, with the primary growing region now being the Nantes area in the Loire Valley.
Folle Blanche is the main grape variety (minimum 70%) used in the production of white wines under the AOC Gros Plant du Pays nantais.
