Garnacha Roja is a white grape variety (grey berry skin) originating in Spain. It is a mutation of Garnacha Tinta, characterized by its grey-colored berry skin. In France, it is primarily grown in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, with a total cultivation area of around 2,800 hectares across the country. However, in its country of origin, Spain, it is cultivated on only about 120 hectares, mainly in Cataluña, which borders France’s Pyrénées-Orientales department in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
