Wine Grape Varieties
Pinot Gris
Pinot Gris is a white grape variety with grey berry skin that originated in France as a mutation of Pinot Noir. In Germany, it is also known as Ruländer, named after Johann Seger Ruland, who helped introduce Pinot Gris to the region.
In Italy, the primary growing areas are Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, where the grape is cultivated across more than 20,000 hectares in total.
