Wine Grape Varieties

Prunelard

Prunelard is a black grape variety originating in France. Native to the Gaillac area along the Tarn River, it is primarily grown in the Tarn department. After the phylloxera crisis, its cultivation declined significantly, and by the late 20th century, it was nearly abandoned. However, the quality of the wine produced from this variety has gained attention, leading to a resurgence in its cultivation, which now covers approximately 100 hectares.
