Ribera del Duero is a wine-producing region in the upper reaches of the Duero River. While the production of red and rosé wines was traditionally permitted, white wine was also approved in 2019.
In Ribera del Duero, approximately 95% of the vineyard area is dedicated to the black grape variety Tempranillo, while the white grape variety Albillo Mayor accounts for just under 3%.
The Duero River is known as the Douro River downstream in Portugal.
