Wine Grape Varieties

Durif

Durif is a black grape variety originating in France. It is the result of a cross between Syrah and Peloursin and has been mistakenly identified as Syrah, leading to its alternative names Petite Sirah and Petite Syrah. Today, Durif is cultivated on only a small scale in France (less than 10 hectares), but it is grown over approximately 4,700 hectares in California.
