Wine Grape Varieties

Marsanne

Marsanne is a white grape variety originating in France. Along with Roussanne, it is one of the main white grape varieties in the northern Rhône Valley and is also cultivated in the southern Rhône and Languedoc regions. Although permitted in AOCs such as Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage, Marsanne and Roussanne may be blended with the black grape variety Syrah to produce red wines, but this is rarely practiced in reality.
