Cotnari is a wine region in northeastern Romania that had already gained international recognition by the 17th century. Today, it also produces red and rosé wines, but it is best known for its white wines made from traditional grape varieties long cultivated in the area, such as Grasă de Cotnari, Fetească albă, Tămâioasă românească and Frâncuşă.
