Côtes du Jura is a wine-producing region with a cool maritime climate, abundant rainfall, and hot, humid summers. The vineyards are scattered along an 80-kilometer-long and 2-to-5-kilometer-wide strip, mainly facing west, at an altitude of 300 to 450 meters.
